‘BILL BOWYANG’ (ALEXANDER VINDEX VENNARD) 1884-1947

Journalist, soldier and knockabout, Vennard (aka Frank Reid and numerous other monikers) adopted the pen name ‘Bill Bowyang’ under which he published a wealth of mostly bush song, yarns, verse and lore in many newspapers and in booklets of ‘bush recitations’. He wrote a regular column of bushiana for twenty-five years called ‘On the Track’. Many of these were republished and edited by Dawn Anderson at https://ehive.com/collections/6420/objects/796468/on-the-track-with-bill-bowyang
