Musician, songwriter, historian and folklorist, Dennis O’Keeffe extended the ‘Waltzing Matilda’ debate by interviewing descendants of those involed and researching the relationship between the song and the industrial struggles of the 1890s. He publishd the results in his Waltzing Matilda: The Secret History of Australia’s Favourite Song (2012).
