Writer, critic, collector, arts administrator and eminent literary figure, Nancy Keesing made a number of contributions to Australian folklore, including her work with poet Douglas Stewart on Australian bush ballads, Australian Bush Ballads (1955). Nancy Keesing published collections of weather lore, folk beliefs and women’s lore in Just Look Out the Window (1985) and Lily on the Dustbin: Slang of Australian Women and Families(1982)
